Wizpresso founder and CEO Calvin Cheng, CFA, participated in the 3rd Malaysian Banking Conference, held on 10–11 July 2024 at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur. Organised by the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB), the conference brought together more than 640 delegates and over 40 industry leaders and experts.
Under the theme “Banking in the Era of GenAI — Reshaping Banking, Innovating for the New Economy & Accelerating Sustainability,” the event provided a platform to explore how emerging technologies are reshaping banking and financial services.
Calvin’s panel contributions focused on applying AI to streamline client onboarding, credit approval and loan execution. He explored the role of generative AI and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) in enhancing credit due diligence, drawing on use cases involving Hong Kong banks. The panel’s discussion topics also included alternative credit scoring, improving SMEs’ access to financing, and managing risks associated with AI-driven credit decisions.
