25 August 2023 — The “2023 Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Forum” hosted by the Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Alliance was held today (25th) afternoon at the Bank of China Building. Sun Dong, Director of the Innovation and Technology Bureau, Wang Weiming, Director of the Education and Science and Technology Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government, and President of City University Mui Yin-chang, Vice President of BOC Hong Kong Xing Guiwei, and Legislative Council Innovation and Technology Member Qiu Dagen served as officiating guests; Mui Yin-chang and Zhao Yantao, chairman and CEO of Xiangda Biotechnology, gave keynote speeches. Our founder and CEO Calvin Cheng also attended and shared how he completed the identity transformation from a financial practitioner to a technology entrepreneur. Calvin also used this opportunity to encourage young people in school to respect, listen and prepare more. When the opportunity comes, you will naturally be able to successfully start a business and solve other people’s pain points.
The special discussion session on “Basic Research and Application Transformation” was hosted by PolyU Vice-President (Research and Innovation) Zhao Ruheng. Six “BOC Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Awards 2022” winners served as sharing guests, including Wang Zuankai, Chair Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University , Professor Zhiyong Fan in the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering and Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Honorary Clinical Associate Professor Chen Daming, Department of Surgery, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Liu Hongbin, Executive Director of the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Innovation Center, Hong Kong Institute of Innovation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Hong Kong Zheng Yongping, Henry Leung Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Chair Professor of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Polytechnic University, and Calvin Cheng, founder and CEO of Wizpresso.
