Wizpresso x Preface Lecture Series: AI Governance in Practice

Wizpresso is partnering with Preface to launch our first “AI Governance in Practice” session, bringing together governance, risk, and technology leaders to unpack how AI is reshaping corporate control and oversight.

Why AI governance, and why now?

AI has moved from experimentation to the core of business strategy, cutting across operations, customer engagement, and risk management. At the same time, most governance models were built for traditional IT and human-driven decision-making, not adaptive, data-driven systems that learn and evolve.

Our recent analysis of HKEX-listed companies reveals a widening gap between AI ambition and AI oversight: almost 9 in 10 issuers now reference AI in their latest annual or ESG reports, yet fewer than 20% disclose a structured AI governance framework with defined accountability, policies, and lifecycle controls. This disconnect exposes organizations to regulatory, operational, and reputational risks that boards and executives can no longer ignore.

“AI Governance in Practice” is designed as a practical, discussion-driven session for enterprise leaders who are responsible for governance, risk, compliance, technology, legal, or ESG. Rather than focusing on abstract principles, we will examine how traditional governance structures struggle to address AI-specific challenges and what concrete steps enterprises can take to close that gap.

Key themes include:

  • How existing corporate governance and risk frameworks fall short when applied to AI systems.
  • What a structured AI governance framework looks like in practice (roles, policies, oversight, and controls across the AI lifecycle).
  • How boards, management, and functional teams can align on accountability for AI outcomes.
  • Practical considerations for integrating AI into existing compliance, internal control, and reporting processes.

By joining forces, Wizpresso and Preface aim to bridge the worlds of governance and applied AI. Wizpresso brings deep expertise in regulatory technology, disclosure verification, and governance analytics, while Preface contributes hands-on experience in AI education, implementation, and enterprise transformation.

Together, we will share real-world observations from listed companies, regulators, and industry practitioners, and facilitate dialogue on how organizations in Hong Kong and the region can move from “AI experimentation” to responsible and well-governed AI adoption.
